Fun story … last summer during our sound check at the Festival d’été de Québec (with Mötley Crüe) a little domestic budgie suddenly appeared onstage and landed on Dave Reimer’s head. He was wearing a cap and didn’t even notice. I held out my finger and the little guy hopped aboard and hung with me until we figured out how to make sure he stayed safe as 110,000 audience members filled the Plains of Abraham. As synchronicity would have it, one of the local stage techs was a bird aficionado of sorts and kept many domestic birds at home. We found an old merch box for him to live in for the day until he could be re-homed, but he didn’t want to leave my side. Life is beautiful and weird… Thanks to Sean Kelly for this picture.
